MISSION
Reclaim Niagara Falls stature as the capital city of romance in North America.
VISION
Build a luxury retreat turning an historic bridge spanning a river between countries into a spectacular showcase for a shared national treasure. Turn a tired corner of downtown Niagara Falls into a regional jewel, set at the inner ring of the Golden Horseshoe.
APPROACH
Create a new, four season vacation retreat in Niagara Falls, Ontario; a visionary project occupying over 51 acres of continuous land, including an historic railway bridge connecting the US and Canada, to add a year round dimension to a currently seasonal economy and transform the local area.
This high-concept, indoor, mixed-use resort will rejuvenate Niagara Falls' downtown core and the greater Niagara region. With an artificial ski hill, hockey arena, and pools, hotels, condos, concert and theatre venues, pedestrian streets, green paths, and courtyards, Cross Link Bridge leads to an all-weather playground, sited in reach of a natural wonder.
CONCLUSION
Situated partly on the former CN Rail Yards adjacent to downtown Niagara Falls, the intended site would have supported a groundbreaking mixed-use development. Features include: Over 500,000 square feet of retail development and an additional 1,500,000 square feet of related commercial sports, theatre and concert venues and hotel facilities.
Cross Link Bridge, embraced the vision of government and community stakeholders, by placing precedence on innovation, creative employment generation, and enhancement of arts and culture in the Golden Horseshoe, and the Greater Niagara region.
Unfortunately, although we were able to secure all necessary levels of government approval to support this visionary development, the collapse of a partner’s companion project led to the cancellation of Crosslink.
